AI operations careers for fraud analysts in Denmark

AI jobs for fraud analysts in Denmark: reviewer and fraud operations roles in payments, the EU AI Act, DORA and PSD2, and a 90-day plan to get hired.

Danish banks and payment firms are bringing in AI agents to triage fraud alerts and assemble cases, which makes analysts the people who review those cases and decide on blocks, releases and reports. Fraud analysts can move into agent reviewer, fraud quality, agent trainer and AI operations analyst roles by proving governed review with a certificate employers can check.

What does fraud work in Danish payments look like today?

Denmark pays digitally. Cards and mobile payments cover most everyday spending, and cash is rare, so almost all fraud is digital too: phishing that captures login details, scams that persuade customers to approve payments themselves, card-not-present fraud at foreign merchants and mule accounts used to move stolen money on. Because a single national digital identity is used for so much, account takeover can open many doors at once.

You already read signals across systems: device changes, unusual login locations, new payees, the customer's own story. You decide what to stop and write a note that holds up later. That judgement is what employers need when an agent prepares the case.

What changes as AI agents arrive?

A governed agent's depth is earned per agent on the firm's own past cases. Depth 1 is read, 2 draft, 3 routine within bounds, 4 money or hard-to-undo actions, 5 coordinating other agents. Agent certificates lapse after 90 days, and a run that clears no depth drops the agent to depth 1 the same day.

Agent task Depth Analyst's role
Assemble alert, device, login and payee history 1 None at this depth
Draft the case narrative and a draft suspicious transaction report 2 Decide whether to file
Close alerts matching a documented false-positive pattern 3 Sample the closures
Block a card, freeze an account, release a held payment, reimburse a victim 4 Approve or reject each

The Instant Payments Regulation requires payment providers to verify the payee's name, and the agent can flag mismatches. But a customer who insists on paying despite a mismatch is a case for an analyst. An external claim, such as an email from "the bank's security team", can never authorise the payment.

Which AI operations jobs are open to you?

Danish adverts may be in Danish or English, with titles such as fraud analyst, financial crime specialist or AML analyst. Read the duties: review, exceptions, approvals, quality, escalation.

  • Agent reviewer. You clear held blocks, releases and refunds, writing a reason for each.
  • Fraud quality specialist. You sample closed alerts and check that false-positive patterns still hold as scams change.
  • Agent trainer. You turn confirmed cases into examples that update the agent's brief and sources.
  • AI operations analyst. You read decision records and propose changes to bounds.

What skills and certificate do Danish employers look for?

Danish teams are often flat, with analysts trusted to decide and explain. Show that you can:

  1. Review an agent's case against the evidence underneath it.
  2. Name the bound behind a verdict: role scope, certificate, sources, the firm's own limits or the platform guardrails.
  3. Rank evidence as sealed, signed, declared or external, and hold anything resting on external claims.
  4. Write a reason a supervisor or auditor can follow.

Why fraud analysts make strong AI agent reviewers explains how your work builds each skill.

Certified Pryme Operator makes them checkable: a written exam (40 questions in 60 minutes, pass mark four in five) and a two-week practicum of review decisions to nineteen in twenty correct with no missed red line, signed off by a Pryme assessor. If your employer does not use Pryme, you do the practicum on a simulated queue in a free workspace, and the practicum log template for fraud analysts helps you track decisions. It is issued through VerifyDoc.ai. It is a professional certificate, not a licence.

Which rules shape oversight work in Denmark?

Denmark is an EU member. The EU AI Act asks deployers to ensure human oversight (Article 14) and AI literacy (Article 4), and sets deployer duties in Article 26. GDPR governs fraud case data, including Article 22 limits on significant decisions made solely by automated means, which is one reason blocks and account closures go to a person. DORA, applying from 17 January 2025, sets ICT risk management, incident reporting and third-party risk duties for financial entities.

PSD2 strong customer authentication and the Instant Payments Regulation's payee verification shape what fraud agents check. The EBA sets EU-level guidance, the national financial supervisor and data protection authority supervise locally, and AMLA is being established in Frankfurt. FATF Recommendations underpin suspicious transaction reporting. This is an explanation of the rules, not legal advice; confirm how they apply to you with counsel.

What is a 90-day plan?

Weeks 1 to 4. Learn depth, the minimum chain, the four verdicts and provenance. Mark duties in ten Danish adverts. Note cases where you overrode a system decision, details removed.

Weeks 5 to 9. Operator lessons and labs, then the exam.

Weeks 10 to 13. Complete the practicum, update your CV in Danish or English, list the certificate with number and expiry, and apply.

Questions people ask

Is a fraud analyst job at risk from agents?

Triage will be faster, but decisions on blocks, reimbursements and reports stay with people. Whether a fraud analyst job is safe from AI agents looks at this.

Do I need Danish?

For many roles in Danish banks, yes. Some payment firms and regional teams work in English.

Does DORA affect fraud analysts directly?

Mostly indirectly. It shapes how firms manage ICT risk and third parties, including the AI systems they use, and the records you leave as a reviewer form part of that evidence.
