Agents now read, draft and track deadlines in law firms and legal departments, and EU rules require competent people to oversee them. Precise, well-reasoned review is the skill employers will test.
What does legal support work in Sweden look like?
In Sweden, the role goes by several names: paralegal, juristassistent, advokatsekreterare. Support staff in law firms prepare court submissions, organise evidence, manage deadlines and handle client correspondence. Business law firms in Stockholm and Gothenburg also use paralegals on due diligence, company registrations and contract work, often in English.
Sweden's principle of public access to official documents adds a twist. Many documents filed with courts and public authorities become public, so what goes into a filing, and what is left out, needs care. Legal support staff in public bodies and municipalities handle case files where both accuracy and confidentiality matter.
Where will agents help?
Each agent capability is certified on the employer's own matters, and the lowest of five bounds decides: role scope, certificate, sources, the employer's own limits and the platform guardrails.
- Reading case files and data rooms (depth 1). The agent summarises documents and lists dates, parties and issues, citing sources.
- Drafting submissions, letters and due diligence notes (depth 2). You check against sources; a lawyer signs.
- Routine deadline entries and internal reminders (depth 3). Within set rules, the agent keeps the deadline register. You review exceptions.
- Filing with a court or authority (depth 4, held). A named person approves, and checks that nothing confidential is about to become public.
The last point is specific to Swedish practice. An agent may draft an excellent submission that attaches a document containing sensitive personal data. Once filed with an authority, it may be hard to pull back. The reviewer is the control that stops it.

What do Swedish employers look for?
Swedish workplaces are consensus-minded, and employers value people who explain their reasoning clearly and raise doubts early. In interviews, describe decisions and the reasons behind them, and say when you would bring in a lawyer.
Back your examples with a certificate an employer can check. The Certified Pryme Operator is a professional certificate, not a formal qualification within the education system or a licence. It requires a written exam of 40 questions in 60 minutes at four in five, and a two-week practicum of review decisions marked to nineteen in twenty correct with no missed red line, signed off by a Pryme assessor. Which rules shape oversight work in Sweden?
Sweden is an EU member, so the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) applies. It entered into force on 1 August 2024, with obligations phasing in. Article 4 asks organisations to ensure AI literacy among staff working with AI systems. Article 14 requires human oversight of high-risk systems, and Article 26 sets out deployers' duties, including giving oversight to people with the right competence and authority. Some public-sector uses are high-risk under the Act, and public bodies face additional transparency and fairness duties.
GDPR governs personal data in client and case files, enforced by the national data protection authority. Article 22 limits decisions based solely on automated processing with legal or similarly significant effects, and Article 35 requires an impact assessment for high-risk processing. In-house teams at banks and insurers also work under DORA's ICT risk rules.
