Send a short note that gives the employer the certificate number, the link to the issuer's verification page and the two things to look for: that the name matches yours and that the status shows current. Invite them to check it rather than attaching a PDF. A check at source takes a minute and answers the question a PDF cannot.
Why invite an employer to check, rather than just attach the certificate?
Because a PDF is a copy, and copies can be edited, expired or borrowed. Recruiters know this, and some quietly discount certificates they cannot verify. Asking them to check at the issuer shows confidence and removes the doubt. The argument is made in full in a certificate an employer can check beats one they have to believe.
It also gives you control of timing. Send the request when the employer is deciding: after a first interview, with a job offer's pre-employment checks, or when an internal panel is reviewing a promotion. For what a PDF leaves out, see what a PDF certificate cannot tell an employer.
How do you fill in the request?
Use the exact name on the certificate. If your name has changed or your CV uses a shorter form, say so in one line, so a mismatch does not look like a problem. Give the certificate number and the verification link, both, because some employers prefer to type the number into the issuer's site rather than click a link from an applicant.
Tell them what they will see: name, credential, issue date, expiry and status. If the certificate has a practicum or exam behind it, add one line on what it measured. Keep the note short; the check is the point.
The request template
Subject: Certificate check: [certificate name], [your name]
Dear [name],
Thank you for [the interview / the offer / considering my application]. You can check my [certificate name] directly with the issuer:
- Certificate number: [number]
- Verification link: [link]
- Name on the certificate: [exact name] [(I also use: other name)]
The page will show the credential, issue date, expiry date and whether it is current. [The certificate is earned through: (e.g. a written exam and a two-week practicum of review decisions, signed off by an assessor).]
If your checks need anything else, such as a reference from the assessor or my supervisor during the practicum, I am happy to arrange it.
Kind regards, [Your name] [Phone]
What should the employer look for on the verification page?
Point out these checks if the employer is new to verification at source:
| Check | What it should show | What to do if it does not |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Matches your ID and application | Explain a name change in writing |
| Credential | The certificate you claim, at the level you claim | Correct your CV at once |
| Issue date | When you earned it | — |
| Expiry | A date in the future | Renew before you apply, or say when you will |
| Status | Current, not lapsed or revoked | Do not send the request until it is current |
| Issuer | The organisation that runs the assessment | — |

A filled sample
A KYC analyst we will call Hamid applies for a review role at an invented payments firm. After his first interview, he sends:
Subject: Certificate check: Certified Pryme Operator, Hamid Rahimi
Dear Sofia,
Thank you for Monday's interview. You can check my operator certificate directly with the issuer:
- Certificate number: [sample number]
- Verification link: [sample link]
- Name on the certificate: Hamid Rahimi (my CV also uses H. Rahimi)
The page will show the credential, issue date, expiry date and whether it is current. The certificate is earned through a written exam and a two-week practicum of review decisions, signed off by an assessor.
If your checks need anything else, I am happy to arrange it.
Kind regards, Hamid
Two details carry weight here. Hamid explains the shortened name before anyone asks, and he says what was assessed, so Sofia knows the certificate reflects decisions, not attendance.
Where the Academy fits
Pryme Intelligence Academy certificates are issued through VerifyDoc.ai and can be checked at source by anyone, by number or QR code. A lapsed or revoked certificate shows that status on the same page, and a public register lists certified people by name, credential and expiry, so an employer can also find you there.
Questions people ask
Is it pushy to ask an employer to verify my certificate?
No. You are saving them a step. Phrase it as an offer ("you can check it here"), and most employers will take it as a sign of confidence.
What if my certificate is close to expiry?
Renew first if you can, or say in the note when you will renew. An employer who finds a certificate expiring next week without warning may wonder what else is out of date.
Is a professional certificate the same as a licence?
No. It is issued by the organisation that assessed you, not by a government body, and it shows you met that organisation's standard. The guide to AI operator certification explains what it proves, and how to share your operator certificate with an employer covers other ways to present it.
