Describe the payments you reviewed, the red lines you held and the certificate an employer can check. An accounts payable clerk shows AI agent skills on a CV with specific bullets about agent-drafted invoices and payments you approved, held or declined, the limits you worked within, and a certificate number and expiry date in the certifications section.
What does an employer need to believe about you?
For accounts payable, one thing above all: that you will not let a wrong payment out of the door. Agents can match invoices to purchase orders, draft payment runs and flag duplicates, but money leaving the business is depth 4 work, hard to undo. An accounting practice or finance team hiring an AP clerk who works with agents wants evidence that you check what the agent cannot.
That means three things on the CV: that you review agent-drafted payments rather than just process them, that you hold the line on the classic AP risks, and that someone other than you has assessed your judgement.
Which AP risks should your bullets mention?
The ones every AP manager worries about, framed as decisions you made:
- Supplier bank detail changes. An emailed request is external and cannot authorise a payment. Holding these until confirmed through a verified contact is the AP red line.
- Duplicate invoices. The same invoice resubmitted with a new number or date.
- Mismatches. Invoice, purchase order and goods received not agreeing.
- Approval limits. Payments above the business's own limit going to a named approver.
How do weak and strong bullets compare?
| Weak | Strong |
|---|---|
| Used AI tools to process invoices | Reviewed agent-drafted payment runs for a portfolio of client accounts, approving within delegated limits and escalating above them |
| Experience with automation | Held supplier bank detail changes received by email until confirmed through the supplier's verified contact |
| Detail-oriented | Declined agent-matched invoices where purchase order and goods received did not agree, recording the reason in each case |
| AI certified | Certified Pryme Operator, with certificate number and expiry date, checkable at source |
Strong bullets name the decision, the check and the limit. They read as work, not as enthusiasm.
Where on the CV does each piece go?
Profile: one line. "Accounts payable clerk experienced in reviewing AI agent-drafted payments within delegated limits."
Experience: two to four bullets under your current or last role, as in the right-hand column above. If your employer did not use agents, describe practicum decisions under a separate heading, "Assessed review practicum", and say it ran on a simulated queue.
Certifications: "Certified Pryme Operator", the certificate number and the expiry date, so an employer can check it by number or QR code. A lapsed certificate shows as lapsed on the same page, so keep it current.

What does this look like for one person?
Take an AP clerk we will call Hassan at a mid-sized accounting practice that handles payables for client businesses. His experience section includes: "Reviewed agent-drafted weekly payment runs for twelve client accounts; held three supplier bank changes received by email pending verified confirmation; escalated payments above each client's limit to the named partner." His certifications section shows his certificate number and expiry.
An interviewer checks the certificate at source and asks about the bank changes. Hassan explains that an emailed request is external, cannot authorise a payment, and that he confirmed through the supplier contact already on file. The CV made the interview possible; it did not guarantee the offer.
What should you leave off?
Lists of software, generic claims about AI, and anything confidential about clients. Do not name client businesses or include real amounts. Avoid percentages and efficiency claims you cannot evidence. If you are also applying for data entry roles, the emphasis shifts; see how a data entry clerk should show AI agent skills on a CV.
Where the Academy fits
Pryme Intelligence Academy gives an AP clerk the evidence for these bullets: module tests set in accounts payable, labs in a free Build workspace, and a practicum of review decisions, on a simulated queue if your employer does not use Pryme. Certified Pryme Operator is issued through VerifyDoc.ai, so the certificate number on your CV can be checked at source.
Questions people ask
Should I list the certificate if my employer does not use agents?
Yes. It shows you have been assessed on review decisions, which is the core of AP work wherever agents draft payments. Describe the practicum accurately as simulated.
What if the advert does not mention AI?
Read the duties: invoice approval, exception handling, payment controls. Those are review duties whether or not agents are involved. See what AI skills an accounts payable clerk should learn to stay employable.
How do I keep it accurate over time?
Update the expiry date when you renew; Certified Pryme Operator is valid for 12 months. The guide to AI skills for job seekers covers what employers ask you to prove.
