How should a call centre agent show AI agent skills on a CV?

How a call centre agent should show AI agent skills on a CV: the calls you took over from an agent, the drafts you checked and a certificate number.

Write down the moments you took over from an agent, the drafts you checked before they reached a customer, and the lines you would not let it cross. Then add a certificate number an employer can check. A call centre agent is believed when the CV shows judgment at the handover, not familiarity with a chatbot.

Why "used AI tools" does not work on a call centre CV

Almost every contact centre now has some automation in front of its people. Writing "experienced with AI chat tools" tells a hiring manager only that you worked in one. What they cannot see from that line is whether you understood what the agent was doing, caught it when it was wrong, and knew when to stop it.

In telecoms, the gap is sharp. An agent can explain a bill, book an engineer or apply a goodwill credit. A person has to decide whether a customer who mentions a bereavement, a disability or a threat to cancel should stay with the agent at all. Your CV should show you made those calls.

What did the agent do, and what did you do?

Split each duty into its two halves. This is the most persuasive thing you can put on the page, because it shows you understood where the agent's authority ended.

  • Billing questions. The agent read the account and drafted an explanation. You checked drafts flagged as uncertain and sent or corrected them.
  • Goodwill credits. The agent applied small credits within a set limit. You approved anything above it and refused credits that did not match the fault record.
  • Vulnerable customers. The agent was told to hand over when certain signs appeared. You took the handover, and you reported cases where it should have handed over and did not.
  • Cancellations and contract changes. The agent drafted the offer. You decided whether to make it, because a wrong promise binds the business.
  • Complaints. The agent logged and categorised. You owned the reply.

Pick the three that match your real experience. Do not claim the rest.

What does this look like on an actual CV?

Take a call centre agent we will call Danielle at a regional telecoms provider. Her old line read: "Handled 60+ calls a day using AI-assisted systems." Her rewritten lines read (sample values):

  • "Reviewed agent-drafted billing explanations flagged as uncertain, around 30 a shift; corrected or held those that quoted the wrong tariff."
  • "Took handovers from the chat agent for customers showing signs of vulnerability; raised four cases where the handover rule failed, two of which led to a rule change."
  • "Approved or refused goodwill credits above the agent's limit, giving a written reason for each refusal."
  • "Certified Pryme Operator, certificate no. [number], valid to [month, year]."

Danielle has not claimed to build anything. She has shown that she watched the agent closely, which is the job many operations teams now hire for. The AI agent skills CV section for a call centre agent has a fuller version you can adapt.

What makes the claim believable to an employer?

Three habits separate a convincing CV from a hopeful one.

  1. Name a red line. Say what you would never let the agent do: promise a refund it cannot authorise, close an account during a complaint, or keep talking to someone in distress. One clear red line beats a paragraph of adjectives.
  2. Show a reason, not just a decision. "Held 20 drafts" means little. "Held drafts that quoted a promotion the customer was not eligible for" shows you read them.
  3. Give a number they can check. A certificate issued through VerifyDoc.ai can be checked at source by number or QR code. If it lapses, the same page says so, so keep it current.

Job titles vary a lot: reviewer, quality analyst, escalation specialist, AI operations associate. Read the duties in the advert. Where the Academy fits

Pryme Intelligence Academy turns what you already do at the handover into evidence. The Operator track covers how a governed agent decides, human review and what to do when something goes wrong. The certificate needs a written exam and a two-week practicum of review decisions, which you can do on a simulated queue in a free workspace if your employer does not use Pryme. Lessons can be listened to as audio between shifts.

Questions people ask

Do I need a technical background?

No. The skill employers look for here is judgment about customers and about when an agent should stop. You need to understand what the agent may do and read why it decided, not write code.

Should I mention call volumes?

Only if they support a point about review. High volume alone suggests speed, and the roles that oversee agents value accuracy and good escalation more.

Is the free Foundations badge enough for my CV?

It shows you understand governed agents, which helps. It does not show you can review decisions to a standard, so for review roles pair it with experience or work towards Operator. The guide to AI skills for job seekers explains the difference employers draw.
