Write as the person who set the agent's rules, not the person who watched it. A retail store manager's CV should show the reorder limits you set, the rotas you approved, the refunds and complaints you kept, and your weekly review, plus a certificate number. Retailers promote managers who keep control of stock, staff and customers while agents help.
What do agents do in a store, and what does the manager still own?
In many retailers, agents now handle routine store tasks. They suggest or place stock reorders within limits, draft staff rotas from forecast footfall, answer customer questions about stock and opening hours, and process simple online returns at the store. That frees the manager for the floor.
What stays with the manager is anything that affects people or money in ways that are hard to put right. A rota that breaks someone's agreed hours or leaves the store unsafe, an order that ties up cash in stock that will not sell, a refund that rewards a known abuse pattern, a complaint that could become public: these need a person. Your CV should show you made those calls.
Which decisions should you put on your CV?
| Store area | What the agent did | What you decided |
|---|---|---|
| Stock | Placed routine reorders within a set limit | The limit, the lines it could reorder, and anything seasonal or promotional |
| Rotas | Drafted weekly rotas from forecast and availability | Approval of every rota, checked for agreed hours, fairness and safe cover |
| Returns and refunds | Processed routine returns | Refunds outside policy, and patterns that looked like abuse |
| Customer complaints | Logged and categorised | The response, and any goodwill gesture |
| Store information | Answered questions from the store handbook | Updates when the agent gave outdated answers |
Pick the rows you have done. If you only approved rotas, say that and say it well.
What does a strong store manager line look like?
Take a store manager we will call Callum at a mid-sized fashion retailer. His rewritten lines read (sample values):
- "Set the stock agent's reorder limits and excluded promotional lines; reviewed its orders weekly and cut over-ordering on slow sellers."
- "Approved every agent-drafted rota and corrected those that breached staff contracted hours or left the store without a first aider."
- "Held refunds the agent flagged on accounts with repeated returns and reviewed them with the loss prevention team."
- "Certified Pryme Operator, certificate no. [number], valid to [month, year]."
The rota line is the one area managers and HR teams will ask about. It shows Callum treated a draft as a draft, and checked it against the things that matter to people.
How do you make ownership believable?
- Describe the limits. Saying what the agent could not do shows you understood its authority.
- Describe the rhythm. A weekly review of orders, held refunds and rota changes shows oversight was part of your job, not an afterthought.
- Give something checkable. A certificate issued through VerifyDoc.ai can be checked at source by number or QR code. A lapsed certificate shows as lapsed, so keep it current.

Where the Academy fits
Pryme Intelligence Academy's Operator track is for people who run a live workspace every day, which includes managers who own agents in a store. Its modules cover human review, usage and billing, and running the rhythm. The certificate needs a written exam and a two-week practicum, which you can complete on a simulated queue in a free workspace if your retailer does not use Pryme.
Questions people ask
Do head office teams care about this?
Yes, especially for area manager and operations roles. A store manager who can show controlled use of agents is easier to trust with several stores.
Should I include sales figures?
Yes, in your general achievements, but keep them separate from the agent section. Mixing them suggests the agent drove sales rather than you running the store well.
What if my store has no agents yet?
