You review what an agent tells clients and the business about a project. It drafts status reports, chases timesheets, updates the risk log and prepares milestone invoices. You check what it holds: anything client-facing, any change to scope or budget, any invoice. You approve, correct or decline, and the reason is filed. The job rewards checking the source.
What does the agent do on a project?
In a consultancy or agency, the agent reads the task tracker, timesheets and meeting notes. From those it drafts the weekly status report, flags tasks running late, updates the risk and issue log, and reminds people about overdue timesheets. When a milestone is marked complete, it prepares the invoice.
That is most of what a project coordinator used to do by hand. The judgement did not move. Whether a milestone is really complete, whether a risk should be escalated, and what the client is told are still decisions for a person.
What is held for you, and what is not?
| Task | The agent | You |
|---|---|---|
| Timesheet reminders | Sends within bounds | Nothing, unless people complain |
| Internal status summary | Drafts and posts, if certified | Sample weekly |
| Client status report | Drafts | Approve before it goes out |
| Change request to scope or budget | Drafts the request and the impact | Decide whether it goes to the client |
| Milestone invoice | Prepares it from the tracker | Check sign-off and approve |
| Moving a deadline in a signed statement of work | Refused by the firm's limits | Project manager and client decide |
The agent earns each capability separately, on the firm's own past projects. It can be trusted to post internal summaries while its client reports still go through you.
What does a milestone invoice that should wait look like?
Take a reviewer we will call Priya at a consultancy. The agent holds a milestone invoice for 25,000: the tracker shows the discovery phase as complete.
Priya checks the sources. The tracker status was set by a team member, so it is declared, not evidence. The statement of work says the milestone is due on the client's written acceptance of the discovery report, and there is no acceptance in the project folder. She declines the invoice, approves the agent's drafted note asking the client lead for written acceptance, and records her reason. Then she asks for a change to the agent's bounds: milestone invoices must not be prepared until the acceptance document is in its sources. A premature invoice would have cost goodwill on a new account.
What does the record show?
Every verdict is filed in an append-only record: what the agent proposed, which facts it relied on and where they came from, your decision and your reason. When a client queries an invoice or a report, the project manager can see exactly what was sent, who approved it and why.
You are judged on that record. Reviewers are measured on correct decisions and red lines not missed, such as a client report revealing another client's name, rather than on volume.
Which project coordinator skills carry over?
Your best habit is checking that the report matches reality. You already know a status of "green" set on a Friday afternoon deserves a second look, that milestones depend on documents rather than ticks, and that the client should never learn bad news from an invoice.
What you will learn is how agents are bounded, how to read the source of each fact, and how to turn a catch into a change in the agent's brief. Where the Academy fits
Pryme Intelligence Academy's free Foundations track covers depth, the decision chain and ownership in about six short modules. The Operator track then teaches human review, teaching the agent and keeping knowledge current, with a practicum on a simulated queue if your employer does not use Pryme. Certified Pryme Operator is valid for 12 months and renewed with an update module and a short quiz.
Questions people ask
Is reviewing agents project management?
Not quite. It is closer to the coordination and quality side. It does, however, give you a clear view of how projects run and a record of good judgement, which helps if project management is your goal.
What if my firm has no agents yet?
Volunteer to help with the first pilot, or practise on a simulated queue. Employers can check a certificate and the decisions behind it, which matters when you have no live experience.
How do I show this on a CV?
Name the outputs you checked, the errors you caught and the rules you worked to, using the duties in the advert rather than a single job title. The cover letter template for project coordinators applying for AI operations jobs shows wording.
