AI governance analyst CV template

An AI governance analyst CV template with a filled sample, showing inventories kept, controls tested and evidence prepared for auditors and supervisors.

Proof is what an AI governance analyst CV must offer. The role answers "how do you know?", so the CV should show the inventories you kept, the controls you tested, the decision records you read and the evidence packs you prepared, along with the frameworks you worked against. Use the template below, then check it against the sample.

Who should use this template?

It is for people applying to roles that check whether a company's agents do only what they were approved to do, and whether the company can prove it. What an AI governance analyst does covers the weekly work: keeping the agent inventory, tracking certificates and expiry, testing controls, reading decision records and preparing evidence.

Typical backgrounds are internal audit, compliance monitoring, risk, model validation and data protection. Titles include AI risk analyst, AI assurance analyst, responsible AI analyst and technology risk analyst. Read the duties in each advert. "Inventory", "control testing", "evidence", "audit", "policy" and "oversight" point to governance work, whatever the title.

If you have never tested a control or prepared evidence for anyone, this role may be a step too far for now. A reviewer or quality reviewer role builds the case knowledge first.

How do you fill it in?

Write in the language of controls. Each bullet should name a control, how you tested it and what you found. Three tips help.

  • Name frameworks only where you used them. The NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO/IEC 42001 and the EU AI Act's requirements on record-keeping and human oversight are common reference points. List one only if you mapped controls to it.
  • Show findings, not just activity. "Tested certificate expiry tracking across twelve agents; found two capabilities past expiry still acting; raised and closed the finding" is a strong line.
  • Describe the record. Say what you reconstructed from the decision record. That shows you can answer a supervisor's question with evidence.

A worked example

A sample for illustration. Tomasz, an invented candidate, worked in internal audit at a mid-sized insurer.

Profile: Governance analyst with six years in internal audit at an insurer. Tests controls on AI agents and prepares evidence for the audit committee. Works against ISO/IEC 42001 and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.

AI governance analyst (secondment), a mid-sized insurer: - Built the inventory of four agents and nineteen capabilities, with depth, owner and certificate expiry for each; updated monthly. - Tested whether held claims above the settlement limit were decided by a certified reviewer; sampled 60 decisions; found two approvals by a reviewer whose certificate had lapsed; the owner tightened routing so lapsed reviewers lose approval rights the same day. - Reconstructed a disputed claim decision from the record for the complaints team, showing which bound held the payment and who released it. - Prepared the quarterly AI oversight pack for the audit committee.

Internal auditor, same insurer: audits of claims, underwriting and outsourcing.

Certificates: Certified Pryme Operator, issued through VerifyDoc.ai, checkable at source. Professional audit qualification.

Tomasz's CV works because every bullet ends in a finding or a result. Compare the role description in what an AI governance analyst is, and see market routes for the US and the Netherlands. The AI agent jobs and careers guide places governance among the other roles.

Questions people ask

Do I need a legal background?

No. Governance analysts test whether controls work and whether evidence exists. Legal teams interpret the law. Knowing the main rules in your market helps, but control testing is the core skill.

Should I list every framework I have read about?

No. List the ones you mapped controls to or tested against. An interviewer will ask how you used each one, and reading about a framework is not the same as applying it.

How does an operator certificate help a governance analyst?

It shows you understand how review and held work run in practice, which makes your control tests realistic. Pryme Intelligence Academy's Operator certificate is valid for 12 months, so check it is current before you list it.
