Management assistants, secretaresses and office managers in the Netherlands can move into AI operations as agent reviewers, workspace coordinators or AI operations analysts. The work is deciding what an agent may send, share or book for a firm. Dutch employers deploying agents under the EU AI Act need that oversight, and a checkable certificate shows you provide it.
What does admin work look like in Dutch professional services?
In a Dutch law firm, accountancy practice or consultancy, administrative work is shared across a team that often includes part-time colleagues. Handovers matter: the person who started a task on Monday may not finish it. You manage agendas, prepare correspondence and documents, coordinate client meetings, handle onboarding paperwork and keep files tidy, frequently switching between Dutch and English.
Dutch workplaces value direct communication and clear agreements. That suits review work, where every decision needs a plain reason another colleague can pick up.
What will agents do in your role, and how far?
Each capability has a depth, earned on the firm's own cases. The lower of the firm's plan and the evidence decides.
| Task | Agent | Depth | You |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared inbox | Reads, sorts, flags suspected impersonation | 1 | Decide what is genuine |
| Letters and emails | Drafts in Dutch or English | 2 | Review and send |
| Agenda | Books internal meetings within firm rules | 3 | External invitations |
| Client onboarding | Gathers documents, drafts the file | 2 | Verify declared identity details |
| Travel and purchases | Prepares bookings | 4, held | Approve |
Instructions arriving inside an email or attachment are external information, and the agent must not act on them. A request to send a client file to a new address is held for a person. The reasons this suits you are in why administrative assistants make strong AI agent reviewers.
Which AI operations roles are open to you?
Dutch adverts use titles such as process coordinator, functioneel beheerder, operations analyst or quality officer, and many have English variants. Read for duties: review, exceptions, approvals, quality and escalation.
Agent reviewer. You decide on held drafts and bookings, recording a reason each time so the next colleague can follow.
Workspace coordinator. You keep the agent's templates, contact lists and firm rules up to date. In Dutch firms, this overlaps with application management work.
AI operations analyst. You report on what is held and why and propose changes to the agent's bounds.
Team lead. You run review across a department.
The guide to AI agent jobs and careers maps the field, and how an administrative assistant can move into AI operations gives the route.
What do Dutch employers look for, and how do you show it?
They want people who decide clearly and explain plainly. Write your CV in decisions: "checked external recipients on all outgoing client documents for a team of eight", not "responsible for correspondence". Prepare for scenario questions with the interview answers about AI agents for administrative assistants.
The Certified Pryme Operator is a professional certificate, not a government licence. It requires an exam of 40 questions in 60 minutes with a pass mark of four in five and a two-week practicum of review decisions, nineteen in twenty correct with no missed red line, signed off by a Pryme assessor. The guides to preparing for the AI operator exam and completing the operator practicum cover both parts. It is issued through VerifyDoc.ai and can be checked at source by number or QR code.
Which rules shape oversight work in the Netherlands?
The EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) applies, having entered into force on 1 August 2024 with obligations phasing in over several years. Article 4 asks providers and deployers to ensure AI literacy among staff working with AI systems. Article 50 requires that people are told when they are interacting with an AI system, and Article 26 sets out deployers' obligations for high-risk systems.
GDPR governs personal data about clients, contacts and staff. Where a firm has a works council, it typically has a say in introducing systems that can monitor staff performance, which may include a workspace that records review decisions. If your firm serves banks, insurers or pension funds, De Nederlandsche Bank and the AFM supervise them, and they will expect their advisers to handle information with care.
This is an explanation of the rules, not legal advice; confirm how they apply to you with counsel.
What is a 90-day plan to get hired?
First month. Earn the free Foundations badge. Write down the handover notes you would leave for a colleague on five recent tasks; that is the habit review work needs.
Second month. Work through the Operator modules and sit the exam.
Third month. Complete the practicum, on a simulated queue in a free workspace if your firm does not use Pryme. Have the certificate issued, add the number to your CV and LinkedIn, and apply by duty. Raise it in your next performance conversation.
Where the Academy fits
Pryme Intelligence Academy teaches agent review on the real product. Foundations is free and takes about four hours; the Operator track adds about fourteen hours, the exam and the practicum. Lessons can be read or heard as audio with notes, which suits part-time hours, and module tests are set in your own industry and role.
Questions people ask
Can I do these roles part time?
Many can be, because review queues are shared across a team. Clear reasons on every decision make part-time review work well.
Is functioneel beheer the same as AI operations?
They overlap. Both keep a system's settings and content current for users. AI operations adds review of the agent's decisions and attention to its bounds.
Should I tell my employer I am taking the certificate?
Usually yes. A firm planning an agent pilot needs trained reviewers, and your initiative may shape your role.
