Which rules shape oversight work in Irish logistics?

The EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) entered into force on 1 August 2024 and applies directly. Article 4 asks deployers to ensure their staff have sufficient AI literacy, and Article 26 sets obligations for deployers of high-risk systems.

GDPR governs personal data such as consignee details and driver records, and the Data Protection Commission enforces it. In substance, the agent should use that data only for delivery-related purposes (Article 5) and processing should be recorded (Article 30).
