Singapore employers commonly read CVs of two to three pages in reverse date order, with a short summary, achievements, education and professional certificates, plus availability and, where relevant, residency or work pass status. For AI operations roles, put your decisions, red lines and a checkable certificate near the top. A template and filled sample follow.
What do Singapore employers usually expect?
Conventions vary between local firms, regional headquarters and multinationals, but a few are common:
- Length: two to three pages for experienced candidates; one to two for graduates.
- Personal details: name, phone, email and profile link. Keep other personal details to what the role needs; photos are optional.
- Status and availability: citizens and permanent residents often say so; others note their work pass situation. Notice period or availability is usually stated.
- Summary: three or four lines tailored to the role.
- Certificates: professional certificates are valued and usually listed with issuer and date.
- References: typically on request.
Follow the advert, and any instructions from a recruiter, over these general habits.
How do you tailor it for AI operations roles?
Titles vary: operations analyst, reviewer, exceptions specialist, quality assurance analyst, AI operations associate. Read the duties for review, exceptions, approvals, quality and escalation.
In Singapore's financial sector, the Monetary Authority of Singapore sets expectations through its FEAT principles (fairness, ethics, accountability and transparency) and its Technology Risk Management Guidelines. The Personal Data Protection Act 2012, administered by the PDPC, governs personal data, and IMDA's Model AI Governance Framework is widely used as guidance. If you did oversight work under one of these, one bullet naming it and what you did is enough. This is an explanation of the rules, not legal advice; confirm how they apply to you with counsel.

Tan Wei Ling · phone · email · profile link
Status and availability: Singapore citizen; one month's notice.

Experience
Payments exceptions analyst, a regional bank, four years - Decided held outgoing payments: new payees, name mismatches, unusual amounts and urgent requests. - Called customers on numbers held on file before releasing large first-time payments. - Wrote short reasons for every release or refusal, used in the bank's monthly review of held payments. - Helped update the team's guidance after a wave of impersonation scams.
Customer service officer, the same bank, two years - Handled account and card queries; referred suspected scams.
Education: Diploma in banking and finance.
Skills and languages: payment exception review; scam escalation; decision records; calibration; English and Mandarin.
References: available on request.
Wei Ling states her status and notice period up front, which saves the recruiter a question, and her red line is specific to the scams Singapore banks warn customers about. Where the Academy fits
Pryme Intelligence Academy's Operator track tests you on cases from your own industry and role, and lessons can be read or played as audio around shift work. The certificate is professional, not a government licence, and is issued through VerifyDoc.ai so an employer can check it at source. It sits alongside, not instead of, banking or compliance qualifications you already hold.
Questions people ask
Should I include a photo on a Singapore CV?
It is optional. Some candidates include one, but many employers do not expect it. Focus the space on decisions and certificates.
Do I need to state my expected pay?
Only if the advert or recruiter asks. Many employers raise it later in the process.
Is experience in other Asian markets relevant?
Yes. Review, escalation and scam awareness transfer across markets. Say which country and type of employer, and which rules you worked under there.
