Lead with the checks you already make at the counter, then show them applied to agent decisions. A bank teller shows AI agent skills on a CV through bullets about reviewing agent-flagged transactions and account changes, red lines held on identity and scam risk, and a certificate number and expiry date that an employer checks at source.
Why is a teller's background a strong start?
Tellers already do the core of review work. You confirm identity before acting, notice when a customer seems to be under pressure, refuse transactions that do not add up and call a supervisor when something is above your authority. Agents in retail banking can draft responses, prepare account changes and flag unusual payments, but the decision to release money or change who controls an account stays with a person.
A CV that shows you understand that line, and have held it, makes you a credible candidate for branch operations, customer operations or review roles in a bank's back office.
Which red lines should your CV show?
Frame them as decisions you made:
- Identity before account changes. An agent may prepare a change of address, phone number or payee; a request that arrived only by email or chat is external or declared, and needs verified identity first.
- Scam signs. A customer moving a large sum to a new payee, under time pressure, possibly coached by someone on the phone. Holding and escalating protects them.
- Vulnerability. A customer whose circumstances mean a standard response would cause harm.
- Authority limits. Withdrawals or payments above your delegated limit go to a named approver.
How should the bullets read?
| Instead of | Write |
|---|---|
| Familiar with AI in banking | Reviewed agent-flagged withdrawals and payments at branch level, approving within delegated limits and escalating above them |
| Fraud awareness | Held agent-prepared payee changes requested by email until identity was verified in branch; recorded the reason each time |
| Customer focused | Escalated agent-drafted responses to customers showing signs of vulnerability to the branch manager |
| Cash handling | Kept: it is still part of the job, but put it below the review bullets for review-focused roles |
Where on the CV does it go?
Profile: "Bank teller experienced in reviewing AI agent-flagged transactions and account changes, holding identity and scam checks."
Experience: two to four bullets like the right-hand column. If your bank does not use agents, add a short heading for your assessed review practicum, stating that it ran on a simulated queue and naming the standard: nineteen in twenty correct and no missed red line.
Certifications: Certified Pryme Operator, with number and expiry. A ready-to-copy layout is in the AI agent skills CV section for a bank teller, and a full rewrite is in how to rewrite a bank teller CV for AI operations jobs.
What does this look like for one person?
Take a teller we will call Joanne at a regional bank branch. Her CV includes: "Reviewed agent-flagged cash withdrawals and new-payee payments; held a 9,000 transfer to a new payee where the customer described being instructed by a caller claiming to be from the bank, and escalated to the branch manager; verified identity in branch before approving agent-prepared contact detail changes."
At interview she explains that the payee instruction was declared by the customer under pressure, and that the scam pattern was a red line regardless of the agent's routine draft. An employer can check her certificate at source. The CV got her the interview; it did not guarantee the offer.
How do you show the same thing on LinkedIn?
Use the same duty words in your headline and About section, and share the certificate so a recruiter can check it at source. See how to show AI agent skills on LinkedIn. If you are thinking of moving into collections or compliance later, compare how a collections agent should show AI agent skills on a CV and how a compliance analyst should.
Where the Academy fits
Pryme Intelligence Academy sets module tests in your own industry and role, so a teller works banking cases: payee changes, withdrawals, identity checks. Labs run in a free Build workspace, and the practicum runs on a simulated queue if your bank does not use Pryme. Certified Pryme Operator is issued through VerifyDoc.ai and checkable by number or QR code.
Questions people ask
Is this a banking licence?
No. Certified Pryme Operator is a professional certificate, not a regulatory licence or approval, and it does not replace any registration a bank or regulator requires for a role.
What if my bank calls me a cashier or customer adviser?
Titles vary. Keep your real title and describe the duties: identity checks, approvals within limits, holds and escalations.
How do I keep the CV current?
Update the expiry date when you renew; the certificate is valid for 12 months. The guide to AI skills for job seekers covers what else employers ask you to prove.
