Show the points where you stood between an agent and a customer in arrears: the payment plans you approved, the hardship cases you took over, the letters you stopped. Add a certificate number an employer can check. In consumer lending, a collections CV is believed when it shows care with vulnerable customers, not how many accounts an agent contacted.
What makes collections different from other agent work?
Collections is one of the clearest places where an agent can do harm. A reminder sent at the wrong moment, to a customer who has just told the lender about a job loss or illness, is not a small error. Lenders that run agents in collections usually keep the agent to drafting and routine scheduling, and keep hardship, disputes and any change to what the customer owes with a person.
That is good news for your CV. The judgment you already use, spotting distress, knowing when to pause and offering forbearance, is exactly what an employer needs from the person overseeing an agent.
How do you split the work on the page?
List the agent's job and your job side by side. Choose only the rows you have done.
- Arrears reminders. The agent drafted and scheduled reminders within agreed wording. You reviewed held drafts and stopped any sent to a customer flagged as vulnerable.
- Payment arrangements. The agent proposed a plan from the customer's stated income. You approved it, or asked for more information when the figures did not add up.
- Hardship and disputes. The agent recognised the signs and handed over. You owned the conversation.
- Promises to pay. The agent logged them and chased. You decided what happened when a promise broke twice.
- Fees and interest. The agent could not waive them. You could, within your own authority, with a reason recorded.
The last row is worth stating outright. It shows you know which actions are hard to undo and must stay with a named person.
What do strong collections CV lines look like?
Take a collections agent we will call Marcus at a consumer lender. His old line read: "Exceeded collection targets using AI dialler and chatbot." His rewritten lines read (sample values):
- "Reviewed agent-drafted arrears letters held for approval, around 40 a day; stopped those addressed to customers with an open hardship flag."
- "Took over every conversation the agent handed on for financial difficulty and agreed affordable plans within policy."
- "Spotted that the agent was treating a customer's emailed bank statement as verified income; raised it, and the source rule was changed so such statements were held for a person."
- "Certified Pryme Operator, certificate no. [number], valid to [month, year]."
Notice what is missing: targets and volumes. They are not wrong to include elsewhere, but in an oversight role they can suggest you value pressure over care. The AI agent skills CV section for a collections agent shows a full block laid out this way.
How do you make an employer trust the claim?
Lenders are cautious hirers, and they should be. Give them evidence.
- A checkable certificate. A certificate issued through VerifyDoc.ai can be checked at source by number or QR code. The public register shows the credential and expiry.
- One clear red line. "I would never let an agent contact a customer during an open dispute" is specific and memorable.
- An example of escalation. Describe a time you raised a problem with how the agent behaved, not just a single case.
Read how to rewrite a collections agent CV for AI operations jobs if you want to move off the phones entirely. Titles vary: reviewer, quality lead, customer outcomes analyst. Read the duties. If the advert mentions review, exceptions or vulnerable customers, apply. Coordinators who manage the queue rather than the calls will find a closer match in how an operations coordinator shows AI agent skills on a CV.
Where the Academy fits
Pryme Intelligence Academy's Operator track trains the review work collections teams need: human review, teaching the agent and what to do when something goes wrong. The certificate needs a written exam and a two-week practicum with no missed red line, signed off by an assessor. If your lender does not use Pryme, the practicum runs on a simulated queue in a free workspace, and module tests are set in lending.
Questions people ask
Should I mention vulnerable-customer training on the same CV?
Yes, and put it near the AI lines. Together they show you know both what good treatment looks like and how to keep an agent to it.
Is collections experience a disadvantage for AI operations roles?
Usually the opposite. You have made difficult calls about people under pressure, which is what review work is. Frame it as judgment, not as targets.
How long does it take to show this properly?
Foundations takes about four hours and is free. Operator takes about fourteen hours plus a two-week practicum. The guide to AI skills for job seekers helps you decide where to start.
