Describe the refunds, returns and complaints where an agent prepared the answer and you decided it. Show the exceptions you caught, the limits you enforced and the certificate number an employer can check. An e-commerce customer service CV is believed when it proves you can stop an agent from giving away money or making a promise the business cannot keep.
What changes in e-commerce customer service when agents arrive?
Online retailers were among the first to put agents in front of customers. An agent can track a parcel, start a return, issue a small refund and answer questions about sizes or stock. Most of that is routine, and a well-run business lets the agent do it within limits.
What remains with a person is the part that costs money or trust: refunds above the limit, a parcel marked delivered that the customer says never came, a pattern of returns that looks like abuse, a customer who is upset enough to leave a public review. Your CV should be about that part.
What should you write about, and what should you leave out?
Write about decisions. Leave out tool names and generic claims. A short list of the strongest material:
- Refund approvals above the agent's limit. Say what you checked before approving.
- Held refunds. For example, where the customer's account showed several "item not received" claims in a short period.
- Escalations you owned. Complaints the agent handed over, and how you resolved them.
- Corrections to the agent. Times you noticed it giving wrong information, such as an outdated returns window, and reported it so its sources were updated.
- The line you held. A promise the agent should never make, such as a delivery date it cannot guarantee.
Leave out "familiar with AI chat" and "used AI to respond faster". They describe the employer's setup, not your skill.
What do strong lines look like for an online retailer?
Take a customer service representative we will call Kofi at an online homeware retailer. His old line read: "Resolved customer queries using AI-powered helpdesk." His rewritten lines read (sample values):
- "Approved or declined refunds above the agent's limit, around 20 a shift, checking order history and courier evidence before each decision."
- "Held refunds where 'item not received' claims repeated on one account, and passed them to the fraud team with a short note."
- "Noticed the agent quoting a 30-day returns window after the policy changed to 14 days for sale items; reported it, and the policy source was replaced the same day."
- "Certified Pryme Operator, certificate no. [number], valid to [month, year]."
These lines tell a hiring manager that Kofi reads what the agent produces and thinks about money and fairness. The AI agent skills CV section for a customer service representative gives a version to copy.
How do you make the claim checkable?
Most customer service CVs make claims nobody can test. You can do better.
- Certificate number. A professional certificate issued through VerifyDoc.ai can be checked by number or QR code. A public register lists certified people by name, credential and expiry.
- A specific correction. One example of spotting an agent error and getting it fixed is worth more than any number of "excellent communication skills".
- Reasons for holds. Write down why you held something, not just that you did.

Where the Academy fits
Pryme Intelligence Academy's Foundations badge is free and takes about four hours, and is a sensible first step for anyone in customer service. The Operator certificate goes further: a written exam and a two-week practicum of review decisions to a standard, assessed and signed off. You can do the practicum on a simulated queue in a free workspace if your employer does not use Pryme.
Questions people ask
Will employers think I am only good with scripts?
Not if your lines show decisions. A representative who held a suspicious refund or corrected an agent's policy error has shown judgment, which scripts cannot provide.
Should I mention customer satisfaction scores?
You can, briefly. Put them under your general duties rather than your agent skills, and never present them as percentages you cannot back up.
What if I have never worked with an agent?
Start with Foundations, then build review experience through a practicum on a simulated queue. List both accurately. The guide to AI skills for job seekers explains how employers weigh each.
