Find the decisions hidden in your admin work and put them first. Administrative assistants decide who sees confidential documents, which requests are genuine, what spending falls within policy and when to refer to a manager. Those are the judgements an AI operations role needs. Rewrite each duty as a decision and add a certificate number employers can check.
Which of your duties are really review work?
More than your current CV suggests. Most administrative CVs list tasks: managed diaries, organised meetings, handled correspondence, processed expenses. Behind each task is a decision. You decided which meeting requests to accept and which to question. You decided whether a caller asking for a partner's mobile number should get it. You decided whether an expense claim met policy. You spotted the email that claimed to be from the managing partner but did not quite read like them.
In a governed system, an agent can now draft many of those tasks: a reply, a meeting acceptance, a document share, an expense approval. It holds the ones that need a person. The person then decides, using exactly the judgement you already use. The guide to AI skills for job seekers sets out what employers ask people to prove. For an administrative assistant, the answer is judgement about access, identity and policy.
How does each duty translate?
| Admin duty | The decision behind it | The oversight skill it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Diary management | Whether a request is genuine and appropriate | Spotting impersonation and injected instructions |
| Document control | Who may receive a confidential file | Disclosure judgement; identity checks |
| Expense processing | Whether a claim meets policy and limits | Applying the customer's own limits |
| Correspondence | Whether a reply makes a commitment it should not | Reviewing drafts before they are sent |
| Purchase requests | Whether the supplier and amount are right | Source judgement on payments |
| Escalation to managers | What sits above your authority | Escalating to the named person |
What are the steps?
- You: read five target adverts. Titles vary widely: operations coordinator, business support analyst, quality reviewer, workflow administrator. Read for review, exceptions, approvals and escalation.
- You: write a new profile. "Administrative assistant in professional services with five years of document control, diary management and expense review for a team of partners. Certified Pryme Operator, assessed on review decisions over AI agent-prepared actions."
- You: rewrite every bullet as a decision. Say what you checked, against what, and what you did.
- You: add the certificate with its number. Under certifications: "Certified Pryme Operator, no. [number], valid to [month and year]." It is a professional certificate, not a licence.
- You: add one practicum example. A line under the certificate or in your cover letter.
- You: trim the software list. Keep only systems the advert names.
- You: check the story holds. Profile, decisions and certificate should all point the same way.
The guide on how an administrative assistant should show AI agent skills on a CV goes into wording.
What does a rewritten section look like?
A sample with plainly invented details:
Administrative assistant, a regional professional services firm (sample) - Controlled access to client files for a team of six partners; confirmed every external request for documents against the client contact list before release. - Managed partners' diaries; questioned and escalated meeting requests from unknown senders, including one that contained hidden instructions to forward a partner's calendar. - Reviewed expense claims against firm policy and approved within a delegated limit; referred exceptions to the office manager with a written reason. - Reviewed outgoing correspondence drafts for commitments on fees or deadlines before sending.
Certifications - Certified Pryme Operator, no. [number], valid to [month and year]. Two-week assessed practicum of review decisions on AI agent-held actions, nineteen in twenty correct, no missed red line. Example: held a draft sending a client contract to a personal email address; the request's identity was only declared, so I confirmed with the client through the registered contact.

How do you make it checkable?
Put the certificate number on the CV, not only an image. Anyone can look it up at source through VerifyDoc.ai and see whether it is current; a lapsed or revoked certificate shows as such on the same page, and the public register lists certified people by name, credential and expiry. The practicum behind it, completed on a simulated queue in a free workspace if your employer does not run Pryme, is what gives the number meaning. Pryme Intelligence Academy runs both the Operator modules and the practicum.
Every decision line should be something you can expand on in interview. If you cannot explain how you checked an identity or why you escalated, leave the line out.
What should you measure?
Responses per version of the CV. Which lines interviewers ask about. If nobody asks about the certificate, check the number is visible and the description is one clear line. If everyone asks about document control, move it to the top.
Where do administrative CVs usually go wrong?
They read as a list of tasks with no decisions. They undersell confidentiality and identity checks, which are among the strongest oversight skills. They say "proficient with AI tools" instead of describing a decision. They list the certificate without its number.
Virtual assistants face the same rewrite with several clients instead of one employer; see rewriting a virtual assistant CV for AI operations jobs. If you want to stay in admin but stay employable as agents arrive, read what AI skills an administrative assistant should learn.
Questions people ask
Should I change my job title to sound more technical?
No. Keep your real title and let the decision lines show the fit. A misleading title will come out when an employer checks references.
What if I have never used an AI agent at work?
Your admin decisions still count as evidence of judgement. The certificate's practicum gives you assessed decisions on agent-prepared actions, which you can describe accurately.
Is it worth applying for roles that ask for analytical experience?
Read the duties. If they centre on review, exceptions and escalation, your experience fits. If they centre on building reports or models, they are a different job.
