AI agent jobs and careers·Answer

What does an AI agent reviewer job look like for a former practice manager?

A former practice manager reviewing AI agents decides held complaints, refunds, rota changes and records requests, and often owns the agent too.

Usually a senior version of the reviewer role, often with ownership of the agent attached. At a clinic or dental practice, the agent handles registrations, rotas, supplier orders and patient correspondence. You decide what it holds: complaints, refunds, records requests and staffing clashes. Every verdict is filed with a reason, and you fix causes, not just cases.

Why is a practice manager's review role different?

A receptionist moving into review works the queue. A practice manager usually works the queue and answers for the agent's overall behaviour. In smaller practices you may be the only reviewer and the named owner of the agent, deciding which capabilities it should be trusted with and when to pull one back.

That means two kinds of work each day. The first is case decisions: approve, edit or decline what the agent has held. The second is oversight: reading the numbers, spotting patterns in what you decline, and asking for the agent's sources or bounds to change.

What lands in your queue, and what stays with the agent?

Item The agent You
New patient registrations with complete details Processes within bounds, if certified Sample weekly
Supplier orders for routine consumables Places orders under the limit Orders above the limit, new suppliers
Staff rota gaps Proposes cover from the availability list Approve any change involving clinicians
Patient complaints Drafts an acknowledgement Approve every response; own the investigation
Refunds and fee adjustments Drafts the refund Decide; refunds move money and are held
Requests for a patient's records Checks identity documents and drafts the release Approve release; health data is special-category
Clinical advice Refused by the practice's own limits Stays with clinicians

What does one complaint look like from the reviewer's chair?

Take a reviewer we will call Neil, practice manager at a dental practice with four surgeries. A patient complains that she was charged 120 for an appointment she cancelled two days ahead. The agent drafts a warm reply that apologises, admits the practice was wrong and proposes a full refund.

Neil checks the sources. The booking system, which is sealed, shows the cancellation was logged one day ahead, not two, inside the practice's charging window. But the patient's email says she rang earlier and was told it was fine, and the phone log shows a call two days ahead. Neil approves the refund, rewrites the reply so it explains rather than simply admits fault, and records his reason: call evidence supports the patient. Then he asks for the agent's sources to include the phone log, because the agent judged on half the facts.

What does the record give a practice manager?

Every decision is filed in an append-only record: what the agent proposed, which facts it used and where they came from, what you decided and why. When a complaint escalates to an external body, or an inspection asks how records requests are handled, you can show each step.

The record also gives you management information you never had cleanly before: which kinds of item you decline most, how long holds wait, and where the agent's sources are thin. A practice manager who reads those patterns is doing the work of an AI operations analyst, whatever the job title says.

What carries over from practice management?

Almost everything. You know the complaints process, the rota politics and the suppliers. You know how health data must be handled, under GDPR in Europe or HIPAA in the US. You are used to answering for the whole practice, not just one task.

What you will add is the language of governed agents: depth, provenance, the four verdicts, and why a capability's authority expires. The guide to AI agent jobs and careers maps the roles above and beside review. The reviewer job for a former office manager shows how the same skills apply outside healthcare. If you are aiming at a management role over several agents, the AI operations manager CV template shows how to present your experience, and how to move from practice manager to AI agent reviewer covers the first step.

Questions people ask

Should a practice manager aim for reviewer or owner?

Owner, if your practice is deploying agents and you already answer for operations. Reviewer is the right first step if you are changing employers or sectors and need to show the core skill first.

Will the agent reduce admin staff at the practice?

It may change how many people handle routine admin. Practices still need people at the desk, people reviewing, and someone answering for the agent. How that plays out depends on the practice.

How much clinical knowledge does this need?

Enough to recognise a clinical question and route it. The agent is bounded so that it never answers one, and neither should a non-clinical reviewer.
