AI operator certification·Answer

What is the Certified Pryme Operator certificate?

What is the Certified Pryme Operator certificate? Proof you can run a live agent workspace, earned by exam and practicum and valid for 12 months.

Certified Pryme Operator is a professional certificate showing that you can run a live workspace of governed AI agents: review their decisions, teach them, keep their knowledge current and handle incidents. You earn it with a written exam and a two-week practicum signed off by a Pryme assessor. It lasts 12 months, and anyone can check it at source.

What does it prove?

It proves you can make sound review decisions on an agent's work, consistently, under assessment. The practicum standard is nineteen decisions in twenty correct with no missed red line. A red line is a decision that must never go wrong, such as letting through a payment change requested by an unverified email or sending a reply that ignores a customer's disclosed hardship.

It also proves you understand the system you are working in: how a governed agent decides, what depth means, why an action is held or refused, and what the business pays for. The exam tests that across 40 questions in 60 minutes, with a pass mark of four in five. Why the practicum is what makes an operator certificate worth having explains why the second assessment carries the weight.

Who is it for?

The people who run a live workspace every day: reviewers, team leads and operations staff. In job adverts, look for duties such as review, exceptions, approvals, quality and escalation rather than a single title, because titles vary widely.

It is not designed for people who will only work alongside agents occasionally; the free Foundations badge suits them. Nor is it the credential for designing and certifying agents, which is Builder, or for leading regulated multi-agent deployments, which is Architect. The difference between the Foundations badge and Certified Pryme Operator sets out where each one fits.

How is it earned?

  1. Foundations, about four hours and free. It is the key to the Operator track.
  2. The Operator track, about 14 hours across eight modules: how a governed agent decides, human review, teaching the agent, reading the workspace, keeping knowledge current, when something goes wrong, usage and billing, and running the rhythm.
  3. The written exam: 40 questions in 60 minutes, pass mark four in five.
  4. The practicum: two weeks of review decisions to the standard, signed off by a Pryme assessor. If your job does not use Pryme, you do it on a simulated queue in a free workspace.
  5. Issue: you request the certificate and pay the issue fee. You pay to be issued, never to pass.

Planning your path from Foundations to Certified Pryme Operator turns those steps into a schedule.

How long does it last, and how is it checked?

It is valid for 12 months. Renewal is an update module and a short quiz. If you do not renew, it shows as lapsed when checked.

The certificate is issued through VerifyDoc.ai. Anyone can check it by number or QR code, and a lapsed or revoked certificate shows as such on the same page. A public register lists certified people by name, credential and expiry. You can share it to LinkedIn with a write-up.

What does it look like for one person?

Take an operations assistant we will call Kwame at a logistics firm in Canada. He completes Foundations in a weekend, works through the Operator lessons as audio over a month of commutes, passes the exam, then does his practicum on a simulated queue because his employer does not use Pryme. One of his held decisions is a delivery refund the agent drafted from a customer's photo that did not match the order.

He requests the certificate, adds the number to his CV and shares it to LinkedIn. Getting AI operator certified while working in Canada describes the same route in more detail. The certificate does not promise him a new role. It gives an employer something real to check and him something real to talk about.

What is it not?

It is a professional certificate, not a government licence or an accredited qualification. It does not authorise you to do regulated work. It is issued by Pryme Intelligence Academy as a vendor certificate, and its value rests on the assessment behind it and the check at source. Questions people ask

Can employers make it a condition of approving decisions?

A business can choose to make approval rights depend on a current certificate. That is a practice some may adopt, not a rule everywhere.

Do I need a job that uses Pryme?

No. The practicum runs on a simulated queue in a free workspace for people without one.

What comes next?

Builder, for people who design, train and certify agents, then Architect. Each track is the key to the next.
