Team leaders in telecoms contact centres already run the things an agent operation depends on: a quality framework, an escalation route, a daily rhythm and a team that needs coaching when standards slip. This CV section shows you can run those for a team of people and AI agents together. A filled sample follows the template.
How does a team leader's job change when agents join the team?
In a telecoms contact centre using agents, simpler contacts (bill explanations, plan changes, fault checks) go to the agent. The team handles complex contacts and reviews what the agent holds: retention offers above limits, cancellations involving vulnerable customers, complaints. The team leader decides who reviews what, watches the queue and the quality figures, coaches reviewers, and tells the agent's owner when the same problem keeps coming back.
So the role shifts from supervising handling to supervising decisions. The guide on how a team leader should show AI agent skills on a CV covers how to present that shift.
Which evidence should go in?
Four areas, one bullet each:
- Quality: how you assessed and improved decisions, not just handle time.
- Escalation: the route you ran and how you kept it working.
- Rhythm: the daily and weekly routines you led.
- Change: a time you spotted a recurring problem and got the cause fixed.
Add a fifth if you have led a team during an agent or chatbot rollout.

A filled sample
A sample for an invented team leader, Omar, at an invented broadband provider's contact centre:
Leading review of people and agents
Team leader in telecoms customer service, ready to lead a team that reviews agent decisions and handles complex contacts.
- Led a team of 14; assessed around 60 calls and chats a month against the quality framework, coaching on fair treatment and on when to escalate rather than on speed
- Ran the complaint escalation route for the team; complaints reaching the resolutions team arrived with full notes and a clear account of what the customer wanted
- Ran a 15-minute daily huddle on yesterday's escalations and a weekly review of quality scores with each adviser
- Spotted repeat calls about the same misleading line on bills; traced it to wording in the billing template and got it rewritten
- Led the team through a two-month chatbot pilot; set up a review rota for chats handed to people, and stopped the bot answering cancellation requests until it handed every one to an adviser
Certificate: Certified Pryme Operator, issued [month, year], expires [month, year], verify: [link]
The final bullet shows Omar acting as an owner, not just a supervisor: he narrowed what the bot could do after seeing where it failed customers. Interviewers for AI operations leads will want to hear exactly how he decided that.
What will interviewers ask a team leader?
Expect three kinds of question. How you would decide which agent decisions need a person and which can go through; give a concrete example from your sector. How you would measure reviewers' quality without rewarding speed alone; mention accuracy, red lines and the quality of written reasons. And what you would do if the agent started making the same mistake every day; the answer is to collect the cases, find the cause (often a source or limit) and send it to the agent's owner, not to keep correcting by hand.
Some businesses tie approval rights to a current certificate. If you are leading reviewers, holding one yourself sets the standard, and an operator course in governed agents is a sensible first step if you have none.
Questions people ask
Am I applying as a team leader or an operations manager?
Read the duties. If the role owns the agents' limits and reports on them, it is closer to operations management; if it leads reviewers day to day, it is team leadership. Titles vary.
How does this compare with collections or paralegal sections?
Those describe individual review work rather than leading it. See the CV section for a collections agent and the CV section for a paralegal.
