Denmark's employers look for AI agent builders who know a business process well and can turn it into an agent brief, a set of trusted sources, clear bounds and a test set the agent must pass before it acts. Most come from operations, quality, analysis or case handling. Show a certified capstone agent, review experience and plain written documentation.
What does agent building look like in Denmark?
Denmark is a highly digital society, and both public bodies and businesses have long handled customer contact online. That makes it fertile ground for agents, but also a place where people expect transparency about automated decisions. Demand for builders sits in logistics and shipping, energy, life sciences, banking, insurance, and firms that supply public services.
Danish workplaces tend to be flat and consensus-driven, and teams often work in English in international firms. Builders are expected to explain their designs to colleagues, unions and managers alike. Titles vary: automation consultant, AI specialist, process digitalisation consultant. What an AI agent builder does describes the role behind those titles.
What do Danish builders build, and at what depth?
Builders qualify agents rather than retrain models. You set the brief, sources, bounds and certification, and prove each agent to a depth.
- Customs and shipping queries at a logistics firm, depth 2. The agent reads shipment data and drafts answers to customers about documents and delays. A coordinator sends anything that commits a date.
- Energy billing questions, depth 3. The agent explains bills from the billing system and tariff tables, within a certified scope. Payment plans are held for a person.
- Insurance claim intake, depth 2. The agent classifies claims and drafts the file; a claims handler decides.
- Supplier onboarding checks, depth 1. The agent reads registration documents and lists gaps. A person approves.
Attest replays the agent on real cases and scores seven gates: grounded, refuses, depth, escalates, scope, adversarial, stable. If the agent clears no depth, it drops to depth 1 the same day.
Which jobs could you move into?

| Process digitalisation consultant | Redesign a process around a governed agent | Process or quality roles |
| Test case curator | Maintain certification cases as rules and products change | Quality assurance |
| Agent owner | Accountable for an agent's bounds and results | Team lead |

What skills and certificate do employers look for?
Danish employers value competence shown in practice and a calm, factual explanation of how you work. In an interview, expect to walk through a design: why this source, why this bound, what the agent refuses, how you tested it. Bring a one-page summary of your capstone.
Precision in more than one language helps. If your agent answers in Danish and English, its sources and test cases must cover both.
Certified Pryme Builder is a professional certificate, not a government licence or a Danish educational qualification. It takes about 24 hours of study plus a capstone agent certified in Attest to depth 2 or higher, and is valid for 12 months. You complete Operator first. The certificate is issued through VerifyDoc.ai and can be checked at source. The AI agent builder CV template shows a format employers can scan quickly.
Which rules shape a builder's work in Denmark?
Denmark is an EU member, so the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) applies. It entered into force on 1 August 2024 and phases in over several years. Providers and deployers have different obligations. If your organisation deploys a high-risk system, Article 14 requires human oversight and Article 26 sets deployer duties; if it provides one, Articles 9 to 15 cover risk management, data governance, record-keeping, transparency, oversight and accuracy. Article 4 expects AI literacy across staff who work with AI, and Article 50 requires people to be told when they are interacting with an AI system. Some public-sector uses are high-risk under the Act, so builders working for public bodies need extra care.
GDPR applies to the cases you read and the test sets you build, supervised by the national data protection authority. Article 22 restricts decisions based solely on automated processing with legal or similarly significant effects, and Article 35 requires a data protection impact assessment for high-risk processing. Banks and insurers also work under DORA from 17 January 2025, and NIS2 covers essential and important entities such as energy and transport operators.
This is an explanation of the rules, not legal advice; confirm how they apply to you with counsel.
What should your 90 days look like?
Weeks 1 to 4. Earn the free Foundations badge and start Operator. Pick one process and write its brief: role, sources, allowed actions, refusals, escalation.
Weeks 5 to 8. Finish Operator, including the practicum on a simulated queue if your employer does not use Pryme. Gather 40 de-identified past cases with correct answers, in Danish and English if both are used.
Weeks 9 to 13. Complete Builder and certify your capstone in a free Build workspace. Write up what failed first and what you changed. Questions people ask
Do I need to speak Danish?
Not always. Many international firms work in English. For agents serving Danish customers, Danish matters, because you must judge whether the agent's answers are right.
Does the public sector hire builders?
Public bodies and their suppliers do build agents. Under the EU AI Act some public uses are high-risk, so expect more documentation and oversight.
Is this a good move from case handling?
Often, yes. Case handlers know the exceptions an agent will meet, which is what good test sets need.
