What do Dutch builders build, and at what depth?
You qualify agents through brief, sources, bounds and certification. Model weights are never changed for a customer. Each agent is proven on the organisation's own cases.
- Pension member queries, depth 2. The agent reads the member's record and the scheme rules and drafts an answer. A pension administrator sends anything that states an entitlement.
- Merchant onboarding at a payment firm, depth 2. The agent assembles the file and checks documents against what a verified issuer has signed. An onboarding analyst approves.
- Insurance claims intake, depth 2. The agent classifies and drafts; a claims handler decides.
- Freight status queries, depth 3. The agent answers shipment status questions from the logistics system within its certified scope.

What do Dutch employers look for?
Dutch interviews tend to be direct. Expect to be asked to walk through a design and defend it: why this bound, what the agent refuses, what you would change if it failed the stable gate. Short, concrete answers land better than polished claims.
Employers value people who can work across disciplines. A builder in a pension fund talks to scheme actuaries, administrators, privacy officers and IT. Show that you can translate between them.

Which rules shape a builder's work in the Netherlands?
The EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) entered into force on 1 August 2024 and phases in over several years. Annex III lists credit scoring of natural persons and risk assessment and pricing in life and health insurance as high-risk. Where your organisation provides such a system, Articles 9 to 15 apply; as a deployer, Article 26 applies, and Article 27 may require a fundamental rights impact assessment for certain deployers. Article 4 expects AI literacy.
GDPR governs the data in cases and test sets, supervised by the national data protection authority; Article 22 restricts solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. De Nederlandsche Bank supervises banks, insurers and pension funds prudentially, and the AFM supervises conduct. DORA (from 17 January 2025) sets ICT risk, incident reporting, testing and third-party requirements for financial entities, and the EU Instant Payments Regulation requires payee name verification in payments.
